4. Minimizes legal problems.

5. Establish basis for taking action.

6. Minimize possibility of arbitrary decisions 

7. A document that can be promoted many times.

8. Provides a vehicle for communication with employees.

9. Covers matters that the EAP does not cover.

8. Taking someone else's  policy will not work as each  workplace is     different.
